‘Go on Gene, make my day and return to acting!’ That was the plea from veteran actors Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman’s agent after the news that Hackman has decided to retire from the movie scene for good.
Clint told MTV.com that he recently saw Hackman, who initially made the decision to retire in 2004 and commented, ‘I’d love to see him come back, but I think it’s not very nice to ride him. He’s too good an actor not to be performing, but by the same token, he probably thinks that’s enough.”
Hackman, who’s career in movies began when he enrolled at the Pasadena Playhouse where he met fellow actor Dustin Hoffman and the two were awarded the dubious honor of Least Likely to Succeed. A bit part came his way in the 1964 film Lilith, starring Warren Beatty.
In 1992, Eastwood approached Hackman for the role of Little Bill Daggett in Unforgiven. Hackman initially refused, but eventually conceded and took the part. He ended up winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and prior to that, his portrayal of Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in The French Connection, won him the Oscar for Best Actor.

Assuming she hasn’t actually taken over the world by next autumn, Victoria Beckham has lined herself up for an interview on the Oprah Winfrey show.
Following her appearances on Ugly Betty, Beckham has secured a spot with Oprah in a bid to promote her fashion line (as some call it, while others tell the truth!) dvb. That just about sums up the ex-Spice Girl, she’s all about promotion but actually has no substance either in her singing, acting or designing attempts!
But prior to that we can all look forward to seeing the ‘woman no one is interested in’ making a cover girl appearance on the US Vogue in yet another promotional attempt to gain herself some identity as a fashion icon in America!
“She’s spoken to Oprah’s TV firm Harpo and wants to prove she isn’t just David Beckham’s wife but has a career in fashion,” a source said.
And Michael Jackson has a career in childcare!

It’s not a rare sight, Amy Winehouse with glass and cigarette in hand but now the multi tasking Amy Winehouse was spotted at the weekend, holding both a baby and a glass of alcohol. Is there no end to this woman’s talents? But who is the neglectful mother who would allow Winehouse to be in charge of a child while drinking, oh, and smoking?
After spending a few hours in the recording studio laying down the theme song to the up and coming James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, Amy rewarded herself with a trip to the pub with friends, and their baby.
With her signature beehive hair do, a display of tattoos and glass and cigarette in hand, the 5 time Grammy Award winner didn’t seem to be missing her incarcerated Blake Civil Fielder too much.
After reportedly delaying her eagerly anticipated third album until the start of 2009 and canceling her record company’s plans to fly her to the Bahamas to record the follow-up to her 2007 Back To Black album it seemed a little inappropriate that Amy should then be making merry after her fans and the record company have been left so disappointed.
