Poor little fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker has been lied to by gown designer Nina Ricci when she chose to wear the little wispy silver number for the premiere of Sex and the City in New York City last week.
The dress has had more than one outing in the past few months and Sarah isn’t happy about that!
The dress was first seen on Lindsay Lohan when she wore it in her Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot recently and Lauren Santo Domingo was seen strutting her stuff around the Met Ball in May wearing the exact same gown.
But Parker being a pretty down to earth girl didn’t see it as a big issue when she said,’ “In the big picture, this is not important, but there is a relationship between the entertainment industry and fashion, We’ve watched sales dwindle and we’ve watched people be less inclined to spend money on clothes. Look, my affection for the dress hasn’t changed but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”
Well it got you in the news once again Sarah!
What’s with the Americans when they visit the good old United Kingdom that makes them drag out their weird and wonderful hats as though they’re popping off to Lady’s Day at Ascot?
Lulu at Ascot!
It may be a well know English fashion (along with cucumber and cress sandwiches daily at 3.00 pm!!!), brought back into fashion in the 1980’s during the Princess Diana era, but it really isn’t compulsory, and it is definitely not a sport to be entered to see who can wear the most outrageous deign.
So far this week London has witnessed Sarah Jessica Parker at the world premiere of the Sex and the City movie, wearing her monstrous sized headpiece adorned with an acorn, leaves, grasses and butterfly as her crowning glory.
Then came the clown featured Miss Paris Hilton who made an appearance at Selfridges during the launch of her new fragrance, Can Can, draped in a white wrap around creation which was last spotted hugging King Tut’s body and of course wearing the obligatory outrageous hat which bore a strong resemblance to the remnants of her prom dress!

Its fiction mimicking life!
Always the logical, straight thinking lawyer, Miranda Hobbes played by Cynthia Nixon of Sex and the City fame, took the devastating news that she had breast caner with all the level headedness that Miranda would have had it been written into the script for her character instead of Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha Jones.
After being diagnosed with a cancerous tumour, following a routine mammogram, Cynthia had to undergo lumpectomy surgery which was followed by six weeks of radiation treatment.
But with the support of her two children, Samantha and Charles, from her previous relationship with companion Danny Mozes, both Cynthia and her new partner Christine Marinoni, got through the ordeal.
Cynthia revealed she even had the surgery on a Sunday - so she would not miss even one performance of the Broadway play she was in at the time, adding: “That’s just the way I am,” Nixon admitted.
May 28th sees Cynthia hitting the big screen once again as Miranda Hobbes along with her Sex and the City pals, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis.
