Initially annoyed by the, 2 hour, late arrival of Mariah Carey to her show, Ellen Degeneres, in her own carefree manner turned the ignorant behaviour of Carey around to her own advantage.

How? By wearing all the ridiculous gifts the over rated song bird brought to the show to celebrate Ellen’s 50^th ‘anniversary’.

Don’t we just love Ellen and despise the wicked witch of the East?

Ellen hosted a party Saturday night which included 600 well-wishers which included Janet Jackson, Tom Hanks, Allison Janney, Ray Romano, Joely Fisher, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Paris Hilton and sister Nicky Hilton with their boyfriends Benji Madden and David Katzenberg and, of course, DeGeneres’ girlfriend, Portia de Rossi.

Pink was in attendance to perform three acoustic numbers, including Janis Joplin’s Me and Bobby McGee.

Ellen’s party was not televised but she did air small snippets during her show on Monday.

Nicky Hilton aka Paris 2.0 brushed the recent weight-loss gossip off her shoulders Tuesday evening while debuting her newest fashion line Nicholai in Los Angeles.

“There’s no truth to any starvation, eating disorders, rumors,” she declared to People during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios.

“I think the press has been printing a lot of pictures of me from unflattering angles,” Hilton continued. “My friends see the pictures and they’re like ‘Oh my god are you okay?’ And then they see me, and they’re like ‘Oh…’ It’s really not that interesting or true.” Sure sweetie. There’s a big difference between an unflattering angle and a protruding back bone!

When asked to comment on her big sister, Paris Hilton’s, newfound adoration for rocker Benji Madden, Nicky replied “They’re super sweet. He’s a nice guy.”

The couple - who attended the show - sat hand in hand near the runway looking ever the bit out of place, well, Madden did anyway. Paris supported her sibling by wearing a red and black halter dress from Nicky’s collection, which she classified as “one of my favorites.”

The parentals known as Rick and Kathy Hilton made it out for the debut as well. And at the very end of the presentation Nicky’s BF David Katzenberg surprised the designer with a bouquet of white roses accompanied by a kiss on the cheek.

While Paris roams free on the streets of Los Angeles it seems that she has learned that being a free woman comes at a price. The socialite is apparently now teaching lessons of morality to the young folk as she proposed in her post jail Larry King interview that was of course the biggest joke ever to air on CNN, forcing Anderson Cooper to cringe.

The former inmate and heiress hasn’t exactly been the best of examples for her little siblings, though Nicky appears to have taken the high road little brother Baron Hilton was in fact busted for a DUI and picked up for driving with a fake ID! On what planet do you hand a police officer a fake drivers license?

Do they teach you nothing in overpriced pretentious prep schools? Obviously quick judgment is not one of the Hilton’s strong points. Little Hilton had to rot in jail because of his ignorant and underage actions yesterday calling parents Kathy & Rick for bail money only to be shut down! He then attempted sister Paris but found no luck there either.

They all thought he should be taught a “lesson.” Bet he learned not to reach out to his family in a time of need. They always were more of a Hotel chain than a happy home come to think of it. Maybe next time he’ll give Nicky Hilton a shout.

But for now little Baron is back home in his posh digs showering off the smell of common folk. Guess we’ll see if the courts are as hard on him as they were on sister Paris. Only in Malibu kids, only in Malibu.
