Isn’t it great when a heavy hitting super star like George Clooney actually gives us a chance to write about a magnanimous gesture on his part instead of his treatment of a broken hearted Las Vegas waitress.

Sometimes we miss all the good things our celebs do amid the gossip and dirt we all like to dig up and publicize.

This time the gesture by George is also accompanied by his Ocean’s Thirteen co stars, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as the three donate a whacking $500,000 to the Not On Our Watch organization to fund the aid efforts in Myanmar, Burma.

Along with his little publicized efforts to raise the awareness of the plight of the people of Darfur, George has now enrolled Pitt and Damon in a bid to help victims of Tropical Cyclone Nargis in Southeast Asia.

So maybe there lurks more compassion in George’s heart than we have recently been led to believe, and maybe he keeps his compassion for really needy causes, not for broken hearts!

After several years on the dating scene it appears that Jennifer Aniston may finally have connected with a guy who she sees as a ‘keeper’. Following her heartbreaking divorce from husband Brad Pitt when he took off with Angelina Jolie, Jen has been associated with Owen Wilson, Aaron Eckhart, Orlando Bloom and Vince Vaughn to mention but a few.

But when guitarist musician, John Meyer accompanied Aniston, 39, to the party for her new movie Marley and Me in which she stars alongside her ex-flame, Owen Wilson, the couple where seen in plain site snuggled up and eventually planting a very public kiss on one another’s puckering lips!

Meyer, who is 9 years Jen’s junior, is known for his partying with Hollywood’s most glamorous women and often leaving a string of broken hearts in his wake. Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt have both been victim’s of this smooth talking singer-songwriter’s charms.

Jennifer, who is known for being a ‘victim’ in most of her relationships is causing her friends concern as they fear she may be the next Titanic on the sea of Meyer’s love!

George Clooney is the boy who called ‘wolf’, or at least ‘wedding tables’ and then sat back and laughed.

Clooney has a home in Lake Como, an area of Italy that is known for its damp rainy weather in the month of February and when a snippet of information came to his ears that the paparazzi thought that his Ocean’s Eleven co star Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were about to be married there he just couldn’t help but play along.

Clooney got on his phone and called a local company to set up 15 high top wedding tables in the grounds of his Italian home.

There was an instant frenzie with helicopters flying overhead and a swarm of paps invading the area. All this while George, Pitt and Jolie were soaking up the Californian sunshine.

What a coo. If more celebrities shared George’s dislike of the pap’s invasion of theor private lives and pulled stunts like this, maybe the celebs could live lives less public. But alas, there are the few who feed off the publicity and scandal.
