The Hollywood actor will portray renowned bank robber John Dillinger, who is on the run from the FBI, in “Public Enemies.”
Depp reportedly signed up for the project just hours before the Hollywood premiere of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Wednesday night (Dec 5, 2007).
A source said: “Everyone is delighted to have Johnny on board. He has great charisma but has proved before that he can bring an intimidating, threatening presence too. Director Michael Mann is very pleased that he has got his man.”
