With less than 24 hours having passed since Heath Ledger’s body was found in his Lower Manhattan home, speculation is already mounting as to how and why he died.
Some comments have been cruel and unnecessarily speculative and as usual with celebrities he is now in the public domain, in death more than he ever wanted to be in life.
The 28 year old star of Brokeback Mountain and the Joker in the new Batman movie had an untimely and sad demise and this should remain private for now, to honour both the respect of Heath, his family and his grieving fans.
So far the New York coroner’s office has revealed that the reason fro his death and tests on his body are inconclusive and probably will remain that way for at least another 10 days.
Let Heath Rest in peace, at least until we know the truth.

Heather Ledger, the man who recently put his role as The Joker in “The Dark Knight,” a sequel to 2005’s “Batman Begins” in the can, was found dead at his loft apartment in SoHo, the West Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
At 3.30 pm today, an appointment Heath had with a massage therapist, was not honoured when Heath didn’t answer the door. The housekeeper opened the apartment door to find Heath dead on his bed with pills beside his bed.
Heath recently broke up with his girlfriend, Michelle Williams with whom he had a two year old daughter and the break up hit him hard.
Details are still unfolding and an autopsy will take place on Wednesday but at the moment it is thought to be an accidental overdose that took the young stars life.
His acting career began at 16 years of age. His films included playing the son of Mel Gibson in The Patriot, he starred in Brokeback Mountain with Jake Gyllenhaal and in the historical and humorous movie, Casanova.
He was Oscar nominated for Brokeback Mountain.

The beautiful, graceful and talented British actress and star of the movie Atonement is in the running this year for yet another Oscar with seven nominations.
Another British actor lined up for an Oscar at this years awards is Daniel Day Lewis for his role as the turn of the century oil baron, Daniel Plainview, in There Will Be Blood but he will be up against Johnny Depp for his very British portrayal of Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Tommy Lee Jones for In The Valley Of Elah, Viggo Mortensen for Eastern Promises and the very handsome George Clooney for Michael Clayton.
With an end in sight to the three month old writer’s strike it’s looking more likely that the Oscars will go ahead as normal and not be left to the same fate as the Golden Globes earlier this month.
