The tape that surfaced of Heath Ledger at a Hollywood party surrounded by drugs has been pulled from Entertainment Tonight (ET) out of respect for his grieving family.
Fortunately the entertainment news network came to it’s collective senses and pulled the segment but did leave behind a one minute preview that has been spreading through blogosphere like wildfire.
Gracing the covers of US Weekly and other rag-mags are photos of Heath and girlfriend Michelle Williams accompanying headlines about secret drug use and hidden trips to rehab. Michelle’s publicist has immediately shut down the accusations calling them completely untrue among many other rumors that have been circulating about the two.
Sadly it seems that the media has been using Heath’s death as a means to sell magazines and gain viewership instead of something to grieve. Hollywood preys on misfortune as we could see in the exploitation of Anna Nicole Smith but the question is when does it end?
When do they, if ever, stop selling you out. Whoever shot the footage from that party clearly was paid a sufficient amount. New footage of Heath is sure to surface in the coming months but what does it really prove? The fact that he has been around drugs is sort of an obvious. His death hasn’t even been ruled an overdose.
Sadly we may never have a direct answer, we may never be able to rationalize what ended the young actors life. But the one thing we can do is stop turning his death into a circus. Stop speculating, stop selling and stop the pointless rumors that hold little to no weight in reality.
The flashing lights and paparazzi brigades can’t be an easy thing to wake up to when you have lost one of the great loves of your life, the father of your child or your son for that matter. The media has in general overstepped it’s bounds in recent years but it seems to be heading in an even worse direction. The one minute preview of Heath at a Hollywood party is available online, in the full clip he can be heard saying the words “My girlfriend is going to kill me.”

The muscial blonde bomb shell, Gwen Stefani, who keeps her life out of the spot light and when she is in the news, and makes headlines, it’s for positive stuff, has announced, through her father in law that she and hot hubby Gavin Rossdale are preggers!
Their son, Kingston, is now two years old and the rockin’ family is ready to expand once again.

Amy Winehouse, who sings that she wont go to rehab, no, no, no, checked into north London’s Capio Nightingale Hospital last week after footage of her smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine was released.
But this week her mother Janis Winehouse has expressed her concerns that her daughter wont be around long enough to perform at next month’s Grammys. Surely the bigger worry must be, will she be around for her next birthday or to make Janis a grandmother some day.
Janis said: “I realize my daughter could be dead within a year. We’re watching her kill herself slowly. Part of me thinks she won’t be alive for the Grammys next month. She always lived on the edge, even as a baby.”
Living life on the edge is what Steve Irwin, Evel Knievel and Steve Fossett were known for (and looked what happened to them?) not what Winehouse does, that’s what is known more commonly as just plain stupidity.
Janis also blamed Amy’s drug problems on her husband Blake Fielder Civil and urged her daughter to get a divorce.
